hello. do you like ivalice? i love ivalice. i feel very normal about ivalice. i have played all the ivalice games. it is my favorite fictional setting ever. please. please give me ivalice.
i love post-canon fic and ivalice is perfect for that; it's also a great setting to do in-universe texts of, or non-traditional fic, and i would be so incredibly down for that (so like, fake history textbooks, epistolary, myths, legends, whatever). memories of the golden age of ivalice from the perspective of the tactics timeline? absolutely. the events of tactics as seen from the ruins of archades? please. the backstory of the espers? yes.
there's nothing i wouldn't be happy to see here, honestly. if you have some tiny tidbit of ivalice lore you've been dying to dig into or you want to write a 4000 word essay about whatever the hell is going on with auracite across the entire ivalice canon (up to and including 14) i would Not complain. i would eat it up.
for art, i would be really, really happy to see a take on a full ivalice map, combining the ones we already have, maybe even with marking the extents of countries at their heyday. i would also just enjoy anything of daily live in ivalice—rabanastre before the empire, rabanastre after the revolution; ajora during his ascendancy, whatever happened to lemurés anyway....
if you would like a more specific request, there's never enough about post-ff12 canon and what happens next. if you want to dip into fortress stuff, go for it! if not, no requirement! if you want to let everyone live i will NOT say no, but i'm also very interested in the complexity of the survivors and what they had to go through.
i am also completely obsessed with the religious structure of tactics. what happened to the light of kiltia? what is the full deal of the church of glabados? how does mullonde work into this?
larsa and his time as emperor and the aftermath of the dalmascan revolution, the espers as a whole and ultima in particular, wiegraf and the corpse brigade, and ivalician religions are my favorite parts of the ivalice canon, and would be the things i'd like to see explored most.

this prompt is open season on wiegraf folles. draw him in a glue trap. put him in the pear wiggler. make him go to the circus. write about him having a good day for once in his life. put him through a pasta press. make him out of play-doh. do whatever you want to him. i will love it.

mydia deserves to live and kiss fran on the mouth. i think mydia should live. and learn to do better. and also kiss fran on the mouth. and maybe get to be a sky pirate if she wants to.
honestly i would be happy for anything with them, but i also am really fond of a post-canon where "balthier" eventually becomes the ivalice equivalent of the title "dread pirate roberts" from the princess bride, and fran becomes the next balthier, with mydia as her lady luck sidekick out to help her save the world, one not-so-charitably minded theft at a time.

i don't think it would be wrong for me to say that soul of rebirth is up there with my favorite video games ever. it elevated ff2 for me from "very good" to "top three final fantasy games" and i adore everything about it—the characters, the interactions, the dungeons, the mirror of the main game and the bookend to bring closure, the ENDING.
the jade passage, pandaemonium, the whole thing. i adore it. i love the four guys and their interactions, their chance at a second ghost of a life, their achievements and getting to do what they weren't able last time. i would love anything about their interactions, their time on their journey, who and what they left behind, or general worldbuilding for the ff2 setting as a whole.
of the four of them, scott and minwu are my favorites, and i would really enjoy reading their interactions and feelings, maybe even discussing hilda and gordon? but i adore all of ff2, so im not picky.
for art, i keep meaning to do a cross stitch project for soul of rebirth, so if you happen to enjoy spriting, i would really like some sprite art to cross stitch. the setting for both jade passage and pandaemonium are just beautiful, so anything about the environment and the world they've come to live in, nature vs man or whatever, would be totally my jam c:

Characters/Relationship: Solus zos Galvus/Gaius van Baelsar (FFXIV), Gaius van Baelsar/Alphinaud Leveilleur (FFXIV)
if i have to critique one thing about shadowbringers, it's this: we never got closure on solus and gaius, and what it means to gaius that solus is an ascian, and what it means that his actions were all always in service of a higher power he didn't understand. this is one of those fundamental fracture points of gaius's character: at his heart, he is the most loyal man to live. but what happens when that loyalty is poison?
well. we know what happens. and it happened to eorzea and it happened to dalmasca and it happened to werlyt.
i would like to see an exploration of this—of their relationship prior to canon, or the point where their relationship was fractured during early canon (and what you think might have been the trigger to drive gaius away in the first place), but most of all an exploration of how gaius had to handlet his knowledge throughout shb.
when did he find out about solus? did he EVER find out? did someone tell him? if so, who? and when? and did that impact his decisions about zenos and varis at the end of shb? did it impact how he handled werlyt and the weapon program?
i've added gaius/alphinaud as a secondary tag to this request not because i necessarily want or need it here (i'm much, much more interested in a gaius character study about his relationship to and feelings about solus) but because if you'd like to contrast his relationship and loyalty to alphinaud, i'd be all over that. alphinaud as the architect of operation archon, as the person who set gaius on the road to stopping black rose and is the ultimate reason gaius was framed for varis's death and can now never go back to garlemald, is like catnip to me. having that in the background always adds even more flavor.
